For coordinators

QEHS coordinator, sustainability manager, CISO, information security manager and sometimes simply coordinator. There are many names for these positions and the management system.se will be the coordinator’s companion in order to assist management with relevant monitoring and measurement of the organization’s processes, risks and deviations.

Coordinators in the organization often take on a variety of roles, sometimes in the same person and sometimes distributed among several people. The coordinator may be responsible for the organization’s quality work, environmental and sustainability work, work environment work or information security work.

The coordinator often acts on behalf of the management team and is an actor responsible for ensuring that the management team and senior management are given the opportunities and conditions to make well-informed and fact-based decisions. The coordinator also provides support to other activities in the area that the coordinator is responsible for monitoring.

The coordinator can assist management and process owners in monitoring the management and governance activities of the organization. The coordinator sets up annual cycles for recurring activities, publishes links or documents concerning relevant information linked to the organization’s processes and activities, monitors that suggestions for improvement are dealt with and that deviations and complaints are handled.

With regard to risk management, the coordinator can monitor that reported and identified risks are assessed and that relevant safety measures are taken. For planned security measures, the coordinator can follow up that the measures are implemented in accordance with the action plan.

The coordinator often plays a central role when an organization is changing or adapting a management system to take into account additional areas and perspectives. It could be an organization that has a quality management system and needs to extend it for certification against an information security standard. For this type of project, the coordinator can start from existing process maps and process descriptions and supplement these with information about information and the services and systems in which the information is handled, thereby creating a more complete picture of the scope of the management system.
